Who'd a thunk it!

Did you ever realize how many people there are in the world with the same name?

As mentioned in my last post, I finally settled on a pen name, which I absolutely love. I Googled first to see if there were any people out there with the same name, there was, but it seemed just one or two people non of which were authors. Good right? That's what I thought.

Then the other day I was on Amazon and looking at their Romance Author's A-Z list and discovered an author with the same last name, which isn't too bad, the problem is that the first name is a bit to close to the name I choose.

So now I'm bummed. It seems every time I do a search on a perspective pen name someone else has it or it's close to an already published author's name.

It's really amazing actually. You think you're thinking of a name that is original and obscure only to discover that it's not as original as you thought.

Now I'm not sure what to do. I absolutely love the pen name I choose but I'm hesitant to use it, being as it is very similar to anther's name.

Changing it would mean I would have delete the email address I set up for it and create a new one, not such a bad thing but I really like this name. I think it suits me well and I don't want to change it but I probably should.

I have a few others I was considering that were okay. They weren't as flowing as the one I ultimately decided on but I guess I'll have to revisit those and think of some new ones.

As for TRCG - chap 7 is being beta'd and I've got 8 pages into chap 8. All things considered, I think it is moving along quite well. The drive to complete is still there which is a very good thing. I haven't been able to get back to it in the last couple of days, but I hope to have chap 8 finished up by the end of next week.
